When Shawn Savage, Jeff Konopka and Justin LaLiberty get together to talk shop on Dead Air be prepared for hi-jinx, hi-brow reviews and existential meanderings on the finer points of MEGA ACTING!!! Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is on the operating table for this installment. Somebody get this one a DNR.
While Shawn Savage doesn’t stick around for the GR review he contributes to a meaningful dialogue about some of the hottest news items in all of dork-dom.-Dear God, No is making the rounds and turning up reviews that involve phrases like “bat shit crazy” and “amalgamation of exploitation movies”. Keep your eyes open and your flies down. -The Skin I Live In is some damn fine cinema all be it non-horror it’s still dark enough to hold its own on this podcast. -The recent ending of the Walking Dead featured a song by the band Clutch. This has induced a nerd boner of epic proportions in at least one of the voices of The Liberal Dead. Can you guess who? -Jeff buckled and bought the Drive non super special mega rad edition because of the lack of certainty surrounding its release date of the Ultra Super Mega Special Edition. It will not be released on the Criterion Collection because Sony’s greedy and those aren’t the rules. -The Dead gets a little love and then a sound trouncing by at least one of our hosts. Find out which one and be prepared to laugh out loud.
The feature film review for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is a mixed bag for Justin and Jeff. On one hand the film is bad. So bad, but… it’s funny bad. As Mr. LaLiberty puts it, “rent the movie and bring home a six pack”. Listen for full commentary on the film including some spoilers that aren’t spoilers at all but that prompt an excellent discussion about what constitutes a spoilers. Final outcome, grow a backbone and stop wishing that everything is a surprise party. Jeff’s synopsis of the film and subsequent discussion concerning the origin of characters may leave you without out breath to fill your lungs.
Favorite observation of the week: Jeff Konopka is a born marital counselor/marriage consultant. His no bull shit approach is as honest as it is humorous. This is either a missed calling or an excuse to start a Dear Abby segment of the Dead Air podcast.

The decision to the end the podcast with a certain Rollins Band song did not go unnoticed by this listener. I will tell you that it is quite easy to forget how bad ass that song is. Find it on the Crow soundtrack.
