As the peon at Fright Rags, I’m privy to all of the awesome background stuff, but I gotta keep my trap shut until things become “official”. Ben Scrivens, Chief Executive Officer of Awesome, wants you all to know that tomorrow, 1/19/11, the much awaited KING COLLECTION drops. King as in Stephen, baby: The Master of Horror.
Says Scrivens, “Growing up in the 80s, I spent a lot of time at the library and in bookstores gazing at the books in the horror section. It was the covers that inspired me…drew me in…and made me want to read those books. It was also during the height of Stephen King’s fame, and I never missed a chance to see the release of a new hardcover or paperback so I could see what the cover looked like. Those images stuck with me as I grew up, and after all these years, I still proudly display each book on my shelf. Now, I want to honor the imagery that fueled my love for horror, and create a special collection of shirts devoted to them.”
You will be able to choose from 4 designs in THE KING COLLECTION, all of which faithfully depict the cover art of King’s famous works Pet Sematary, Night Shift, Skeleton Crew, and The Dark Half. Fright Rags worked directly with the artists of these unforgettable covers to ensure each piece would be painstakingly reproduced on their uber soft and comfy 100% cotton ringspun tees. I hate to brag (no I don’t), but having spent the last few days personally folding and otherwise attending to these awesome pieces of wearable art, I can tell you first hand that these are absolutely beautifully done. The colors are bright and true, the shirts are ridiculously comfy, and the prints are pristine. I grabbed my Pet Sematary tee this morning, as a matter of fact. I know they’re going to go like hotcakes and I certainly didn’t want to miss out.
So, make sure to hit the Fright Rags site (http://www.fright-rags.com) tomorrow and grab your personal piece of King nostalgia. Or two, or three, or all four. You will NOT be disappointed.
