We all watched as “so so” died this past season and the zombies did that thing they did and the folks of the Walking Dead stayed on the farm… for… ever… What did you think of the Walking Dead Season 2? The Internet is absolutely exploding with everything from Siskel and Ebert level criticism to whiny social networkers trying to play Hollywood directors to the folks who might as well be the tattle talers in grade school for the rest of their natural born lives (Those are the spoiler posters). Well there’s only one opinion (really three separate opinions fused to form one) you need to listen to if you want to get eaten alive by the Walking Dead all over again. Jeff Konopka, Shawn Savage and Ted Brown dish on the brains you love to eat.
Before the zombies kill “so and so”, there’s a list of things the guys have been watching, commenting on and will be discussed on this podcast.
-Shawn has been watching Game of Thrones… who hasn’t! Even I jumped on the band wagon this week.
-God Bless America from the ever Bobcat Goldthwaite is worth a watch. You’ll probably identify with it. Hide the ammo. Maybe the guns. Watch it with an open mind and remember to laugh a little.
-The Samaritan with Samuel L. Jackson is very nearly “Lynchean”. It’s an uncharacteristic film for Jackson to star in and seems like its got some teeth.
-Meeting Evil also featuring Samuel L. Jackson… probably worth staying away from. Nothing new to see here. (Keep your ears open for Ted Brown verbally assaulting Luke Wilson… with a catch).
-American Pie Reunion made its way to the theater this weekend, so Shawn recapped the series at home in anticipation of watching the movie Sunday night (more on that later). This means no Cannibal Corpse on Easter for Shawn. I guess Stripped Raped and Strangled wasn’t about dying Easter Eggs?
-Speaking of American Pie, the original DVD is a steaming pile. The blu ray ain’t much better. So says Konopka.
-Ted says that Monster Brawl is perfect for fans of professional wrestling and gore. Special appearances by Kevin Nash and Jimmy “The Mouth of the South” Hart!
-Ted continues watching Breaking Bad and making me curious as to what I’m missing. I get into all the good shows late.
-Jeff has been prepping for the John Carpenter Escape From New York podcast (which is up now folks). Snake Plissken sends his regards.
The commentary this week on the Walking Dead Season 2 does contain spoilers throughout the episode so be warned. The guys aren’t trying to spoil it, but if you haven’t seen it yet, best to wait on this one for now. If you’ve been following season 2 this is essential listening. Maybe you didn’t quite understand something or need to know how it relates to the comic book storyline. Get the story behind the season and some fresh perspectives.
