Dead Air: Episode 31 – THIS IS THE END, V/H/S/2 and HATCHET III (2013) – Ménage à Horror!

Just in time for summer. You get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing. Or you really get three movie reviews for the price of one free podcast that you can listen to and then figure out where you should place your bets. Do you wanna go with the sequel to V/H/S, not S-VHS, V/H/S/2 which is clearly receiving more positive notes than its predecessor. Maybe you’re still scared of wasting your cash and need to talk to a few guys who had varying opinions on the original movie? Maybe you love Adam Green, have stalked Adam Green, only to realize that he didn’t direct Hatchet III and now you’re left wondering if this new fella behind the lens can hit the G spot? (the G… is for GORE). Then of course there’s This is The End. It’s a wide theatrical release with the usual suspects doing schtick and wearing cool T-shirts… OR is it the funny shit you’ve been waiting for ever since Shaun of the Dead made horror comedies respectable? You have ears. This podcast is for you, horror people.

Jeff Konopka, Shawn Savage and Jimmy Terror will deliver a healthy dose of non-spoiler filled reviews of what’s hot in horror in the theater, on your TV, IN YOUR BRAIN. An original picture, a sequel or a the third installment in a series. June has been a good month for horror. July’s coming on like a bitch in heat. What are you gonna do when the Dead Air podcast team delivers a triple threat of horror-thon proportions? I think you should listen in, and then let us know if we got it right.

You may also Download the MP3 directly, using the provided link, or Subscribe Via iTunes to ensure that you stay current with this series and all of our other shows. Check us out on Tumblr HERE or Facebook HERE.

You know… you could just watch all three and then go listen to the podcast to see if you agree with us. I don’t think any of these films is a waste of money though I’d like to keep firm opinions to those who want to ante up and check ‘er out.  An orgy of horror awaits you viewers and dear listeners.

About Jimmy Terror

Dr. Jimmy Terror, more commonly known as James P. Harris, has been “writing your eyes” shut since 2010 with his horror themed blog, Dr. Terror’s Blog of Horrors (whose name is a play on words derived from the Amicus film, Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors). In the early 2000’s he fronted the band The Vaudeville Vampires, a short-lived "Horrorabilly" band which saw the creation of a catalog of horror related songs before disbanding (with only one, six song demo ever being produced and distributed). He has had only one on screen appearance to date in the horror short, Ocean Parkway, as maniacal, gloved killer with a hair fetish. Having done some un-credited, behind the scenes work in some low budget genre pictures, he is currently working on his first foray into screenwriting with a demonic, retro gore entry that pays homage to Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento as well as other Italian masters of the genre.

Love the show, guys! Seen all three movies. Agreed with most of everything. Love that you didn’t just dog out the parts you didn’t like without giving a reason why and being able to completely articulate those reasons. Thanks for this one!

    Thanks for listening. :)
