How is everyone’s wallets doing after last week’s most American shopping day? I hope you still have enough left over to buy some poorly transferred horror films brought to you by the slackers over at Echo Bridge. Fear not though, Chillerama is out this week and that makes up for all the garbage being thrown at us recently. On a side note, if you plan on blowing your brains out this season, make sure you pick up VH1 Storytellers: The Dixie Chicks before you go through with it. I just want to make sure your reasons are justified; that’s all.
What a well-made yet unfunny film. I was disappointed by this title and it mostly has to do with the great cast delivering flat, cringe-worthy lines. Watch the trailer, those are literally the only comedic parts in the the film. I wrote a review when it came out; which you can read here. I thought Zombieland was a fun ride, but director Robert Fleischer has taken a wrong turn. I hope his next project will satiate my comedic pallet.
AWWW YEAH! I took a trip to NYC with John Squires to check this out at a midnight screening. Joe Lynch was in attendance and he did a nice little introduction as well as hang out with his fans afterwards. You can read my review, but I will tell you this, Sullivan’s segment is by far the worst and is easily skip-able. Don’t let that dampen your intrigue, this film is well worth a buy and is one of the more enjoyable films of the year.
A friend of mine bought a copy of this film for me on DVD awhile ago, unfortunately the transfer was not very good. So it seems that Horror Express is due for the high def treatment. I can’t recommend this to everyone but it’s pretty entertaining and Savalas IS THE MAN! Also, this film is at a nice low price, how could you go wrong?
I will go out on a limb here and call this one of the greater horror-comedies of the last decade. I was surprised by how funny and upbeat this title was as well as original. I wasn’t in love with the last act but hey, I was still giggling. Jude reviewed the film for the site, which you can read here. I also reviewed this film for the “Bloodsprayer”, and you can view that at your leisure here. Buy it!
Alright, I didn’t bother posting images or links for the Echo Bridge stuff because Amazon doesn’t even have the Blu boxarts up yet. So I’ll just list them, and tell you not to support their sleazy operation.
