Blu-Ray Giveaway – Fright Night 2: New Blood On DVD/Blu-Ray 10/1/13 From FOX

I know it’s not “cool” to like remakes, as the grumbling on social media sites would have you believe every time one of them is announced, but I quite enjoyed the Fright Night remake. It was entertaining, with several great performances, and it paid homage to the original, without treading all over it, and kind of going in its own direction. Some may disagree with me, but I thought Colin Farrell did a surprisingly good job at creating a menacing movie baddie. One thing I’ll bet some of you didn’t know, though, is that not only has a sequel been filmed, but it drops on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 1st of this year. So if you did enjoy the original film, you may have something to look forward to within the coming weeks. I haven’t seen the film yet, so I can’t comment as to how it compares to the previous remake, or the original. But, what I can do is give away a couple of Blu-Ray copies of the film that have been generously provided by FOX. To enter, make sure you are a fan of both The Liberal Dead, and Fox Home Entertainment on Facebook. Also, leave a comment below in the provided section, telling me what you thought about the Fright Night remake, as well as your email address so that you can be contacted. Also, please check out the feature from FOX below, entitled Ways To Stay Immortal. We have TWO Blu-Ray copies of the film to give away, and the two winners will be randomly chosen on the day of release, October 1st. Winners will be contacted via the email address provided, and asked for a mailing address to receive their prize. Have fun, and be sure to check out Fright Night 2: New Blood on October 1st from FOX.

I really loved the remake, mostly because of Anton Yelchin and David Tennant though. They are wonderful actors imo, and make me geek out a bit :p I think it turned out really well though and am excited to see the sequel! (Even though I had no clue it was already filmed!)

I liked the remake even though I didn’t want too as I love the original movie and even have the comics from it. I hope I win.

  • Frank Fierro

I actually enjoyed the remake, although I didn’t think it was as good as the original. I loved that Chris Sarandon made a cameo though!

  • Jesse Gable

I thought the remake was pretty damn great. They kept up the pace and kept doing fun things, can’t wait for the sequel.

  • Joe Dubree

I thought the remake took a nice modern spin but didn’t lose it’s way by doing so. I also like they kept some low humor in it like the original, but what I liked most was some of the creativity with the kills of vampires it was pretty sweet when the girl ran outside and turned to ash …….

I enjoyed the Fright Night remake much more than I thought I would. While some of the CG was a bit off (like Colin Farrell’s face at some points when in mid-transformation), it didn’t take me out of the film. Also, David Tennant was awesome and I’m sad his spinoff series won’t be made (or isn’t in the sequel either).

I thought the remake did what a good remake should do in that it took what worked about the original but did its own thing with it. I liked that it knew when to pay homage and when to be itself. Also: David Tennant was excellent. I think Russell Brand’s name was in the running for that role, but I’m so glad he didn’t get it.

  • Jordan Biagomala

I really liked the Fright Night remake, it revamped (haha pun intended) the story for a modern generation and kept the heart!

  • Daniel Clausen

I was pleasant surprised to discover that I really enjoyed the remake. I kept telling myself it would suck, popped it in one day and thought it was pretty fun.

I despised the remake. Just plain hated it. I’m hoping that this one will go the same way as Texas Chainsaw Massacre where I thought the remake was godawful but enjoyed the sequel.

I like it, David Tennant was particularly good – the original’s better though.

David Tennant made the movie rock!!! the film was good and i hope the second is as good too.

  • David

I thought it was just as good as the original.Colin Farrell had that perfect combination of trusting neighbor and dark evil predator. David Tennant demonstrated both the confidence and insecurity we all have.
